Kami and Brent came to visit this weekend. Our fun weekend began on Friday night at the E Center for Arena Football. The Blaze were playing the team from Arizona. Raleigh and I are personal friends of the mascot, which is this UGLY Planet of the Apes dude here below.
Anyway... we asked him if he could get us good seats to the game. " No Problem", he said... "four tickets will be waiting at Will Call". So we get there, give them our ID and you guessed it.... NO TICKETS. Not under Raleigh's name, not under my name, not under Joey's name, not under the mascot's name... NOTHING.
Raleigh and I start dying... here we thought we were so rad... "we've got connections, don't worry. We'll hook us up with awesome seats and probably free t-shirts too." Well, it seems we are not as good of friends with the Monkey as we thought we were. So we are all standing there... rejected...listening to the game.... trying to figure out what to do...
Raleigh is texting like a madman and I go to the man in charge of Will Call and start pleading our case... It was a sad tale that I told... and it was almost totally all true too. And the best part was it seemed like the guy was buying it. And that he might help us.
We stood there for like 20 minutes and finally this kid shows up. "Are you Raleigh?" he asks... "I am the mascot handler... I was told to come find you... I have your tickets " Well, finally. Here we go... we are thinking... front row seats in the middle of the stadium.... here we come.
We begin following mascot handler through a series of twisted tunnels, back past the employee locker rooms, the laundry center, the electrical room...lights are flickering, it kinda stinks... Oh man these are going to be GOOD seats.
Then he takes us to the SERVICE ELEVATOR.
See here we are underground and backstage waiting for the scary service elevator to take us to our super cool seats right???

Here was our view.
Yep, that would be the end zone that you are looking at. And there is a better view of our dumb friend Joey, who apparently has ZERO connections with the Blaze People whatsoever.
Ya Ya... you're the mascot... big deal.
JUST TRY AND GET HER OVER IT.
Then on Saturday Night we went to the Eagle Mountain Rodeo.

Looks like a fun weekend. Those mascots always think they are way more cool than they really are! Way to blow it Joey...
I can't believe it is the end of May and still freezing! Where is all of the global warming I keep hearing about. My goodness, have we done that good of a job not using our aerosols that it has reversed global warming. If so, bring on the AquaNet hairspray! I personally would like some heat!
Anyway, glad you had a fun weekend.
Kaci, you are becoming just the best blogger...all the details and cute pictures. I loved this post. Even though I had heard the Blaze story it was fun to read about it and laugh again. Sorry for all the confusion at the game, stupid Joey! I'm also sorry that it is still so cold up there (it's 86 here today and it's beginning to feel like summer). I think the rodeo looks fun, I really like all that cowboy stuff.
I agree totally with Nancy, you are the best little blogger. I love how you write and how you tell your stories. They crack me up! That was hysterical about Joey the mascot. Man what a guy! I guess you got the best tickets to see the mascot:) That would totally happen to me! I'm sure it was still great and loads of fun. The rodeo looks like a great time too.
Oh and about that weather your having-I think were going to come for a visit! It was 102 degrees yesterday and it really was hotter than HELL! Seriously, we'll send you some warmth will you send us a little cool.
Take Care,
JoLynn
I should have just posted a link to your blog for the details...I am not a good blogger anymore! :(
Thanks for playing with us and for having friends in sorta high places.
Love you...thanks again...see you soon!
Fun! You are WAY cool! You actually know the ugly Planet of the Apes guy? I can say I know you, sort of!
I am so happy you are having another girl! I love little girls, having had 4 of my own! They were fairly easy teenagers. I just put them on the swim team and their Dad got to coach them and put up with all of their "stuff". Then they were worn out when they got home and went to bed early!!
Anyway, congratulations! Hope you are feeling well.)
We would love to have the Lunds here with us! However, I have to say, if I hadn't lived here all my life this is probably not where I'd choose to live when it's HOT 7-8 months of year. I gotta an idea when Brent and Kami come at the end of July we'll have them bring Raliegh with them. By then it will be 115 degrees here and if that doesn't make him think twice nothing will!
Well then come on down! We'll be on the look out. You wanna be neighbors? That would be fun! We'd love it!
