I woke up today and I had a TON of energy and I felt fabulous. And to be honest, it's the first day in some time and so I have taken FULL advantage of it and not only have I accomplished more in 4 hours than I have in like 4 weeks, I also have a couple of victories to report on.
1. The binky is gone. I mean that it is literally gone. We had 6 of them in June and now we cannot find a single one and so.... consequently, "Shoot, Sis, we can't find it" "where is it?" "oh so sad, Sissy" And she has maybe asked for it 3 times in the past week. Those of us who really know Peyton will appreciate how HUGE this is. YES!! And while I am reporting on little nearly 2 year old victories, I might as well mention that we have had two "poops" on the potty and she has gotten over the temporary set back of being terrified of the bath. That is until we visit Nana again. I don't know why Nana's bathtub is so terrifying, but it certainly is. I am so beyond happy about these small things.

2. The Lincoln Lawyer comes out tomorrow. I think it is rated R. But I have been wanting to see it for months. I hope it's kinda good.
3. My kids went to and actually enjoyed Youth Conference. It was the day after they returned from their trip and so I honestly didn't even expect them to attend. I filled out the permission slips and put them on the counter. And I may have casually mentioned that "it would make me the happiest mother in the entire world if they would think about going." And they actually did. It was a service project/testimony building Youth Conference and they felt the spirit and neither of them died.
4. I got some decent pictures of my kids. It's hard to get them all in the same place and to have them be all clean and smiley but here they are.

Yay, it's a small victory. But a victory none the less.
5. I got my bedding completely washed. It smells so good and feels so soft.
6. We finally have a car big enough to fit our whole family in. I love going to church, all of us, together, fighting and crying and punching each other, it's so fantastic. But, seriously it feels so good to be up off the ground in my big ole monster SUV filled with my little darlings.
7. I have been trying to replace ONE of my daily, numerous diet cokes with a water every day. It's helping me feel like I am trying to take care of myself.

I am currently dealing with HUGE issues. They are almost unbearable they are so big and overwhelming. Every single facet of my life is currently being affected by a huge issue. I am trying to hold it all together, but I am not kidding there is so much. It's pretty great that I have a balanced, easy going, grounded husband that brings order and calmness to my world. I keep trying to have melt downs but he won't let me. I don't know why "when it rains, it pours" but I am in MONSOON season here and I need clear skies just for a day. I think it was today, so I'm appreciating it.

This was a great post with many big accomplishments and positives to report on. Good Job! I'm happy to hear you're waking up with some energy...I don't know how you do it but I'm glad to hear that it's happening. I think the pictures of your kids turned out cute.
I'm sorry about the Monsoon season, you need to just let it all go and focus on things that you have control over. I know it's easier said than done, but keep trying. This too shall pass.
I am glad you had a good day. It is so nice to have one of those now and then. Sounds like some of those accomplishments were huge! The binki for one. that is no small accomplishment. You know that a lost one will suddenly turn up and you may have to start over... but at least now you know it is do-able. Hopefully, the good days will keep coming.
I love you, Kac... my heart is just bursting wide open as I empathize completely with your efforts to appreciate the little things during your times of trial. I am TOTALLY cheering you on as you look around for your daily joy. KEEP IT UP!!! And I'm so glad you have Raleigh to help you. You are a strong, beautiful person. Just keep moving forward!
cute photos!!
Oh Kaci.....even though I don't have the same trials going on as you do, it has been a rough few weeks off and on here. These last couple of weeks especially have been a little rough so I totally empathize with the monsoon season thing. But as your mom said, "this too shall pass" or another one of my favorites she says, "it's always darkest before dawn". Things will get better, hang in there!
On a happy note, that binki thing is a huge accomplishment, and getting all those kids too look so cute is way big! And the fact that your kids went to youth conf. all on their own is MAJOR BIG and that whole getting rid of one diet coke a day and replacing it with water is WAY MAJOR especially considering that your in monsoon season. Goodness, I can't possibly give my cherry pepsi with ice up right now!
Your an amazing wife, mother, and woman. Hang in there and know your in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
JoLynn
hey kaci.. i hope that things get better for you! i am so sorry that you are going through a hard time! i hope that everything is okay. i will keep you and your cute family in my thoughts and prayers! i know i don't know you in real life.. but i can tell you are awesome. i really admire you and think you are awesome. also? i saw the lincoln lawyer.. and i loved it haha. i probably watch too many rated r movies but oh well. life goes on :)
Thanks for not only posting great and wonerful things, but for posting some of your trials. I too have had a monsoon (however it's spelled). There is so much drama in our life right now I could barely post my 6 smiles for the week! I managed 4! Thankfully I have amazing support from my sweet little family, and many friends who know the true me! I just have to snap out and move on! <3
