The Love of my Life had a birthday today. I woke him up way too early because I made him some crepes and I wanted to watch him eat them. He was all groggy. Like his eyes were very sleepy and I am certain that he would have liked to have slept in and I am certain that he didn't want to run out to the kitchen and eat the very second that he woke up.
But, he did. To make me happy. And he said "Mmmmmm. Yummmmmm. Num Num. After every bite. He is so good to me. And then I kissed him and ran out the door to work.
Then.... I made him come to my work and have lunch with me. "Oh and could YOU stop by Jimmy Johns and get us some sandwiches and pay for them and bring them to me... at work.... and sit at an uncomfortable table and eat a sortof yucky sandwich.... with me?
I did have some "Sweet Tooth Fairy" treats waiting for him
Then he worked for a couple of hours.
At 6:00, we met the family at Pirate's Cove. It used to be Pirate's Island, but the Island kinda sucked and so the owners thought.... "maybe if we move the Pirates to a cove, it will be better. And more people will come. We will have WAY below average waiters who are kindof dressed like Pirates and we will serve WAAAAYYYYYYY below average food. And we will periodically interrupt the guests with a very, very LAME (show) or something like a show... but it will mostly be the waiters embarrassing themselves while the guests look at their food. And the below average food will be served all sporadically and the dessert pizza will take 45 minutes to cook."
I feel really badly that this is how the day went. But I will say that the suckiness of the day in no way reflects how much I love him and how fantastic I think he is.
And I hope he will forgive me.
He made nearly every shot and won a ton of tickets for the children
And he seemed like he was really happy.
I will plan and prepare to do much better next year.
Ahhhh... The good ole' days

I think you should mention that Pirates Cove was not where we chose to go to celebrate Raleigh...but that we had two YOUNGER girls in the family who also had a birthday this past week...and this upcoming week and we were celebrating them as well.
Somehow that sounds a little less lame. I mean we know that Raleigh is QUITE a bit younger than his wife but I would feel bad if people thought you planned his birthday party at the local theme arcade. :)
Just saying!
Love you. and I am POSITIVE he loved every minute of his day just knowing how much you adore him!
Very good point Kam. Thanks for helping me. I am a firm believer that you should NEVER dumb yourself down. But honestly, I am heartbroken for him on days like these and I want to go overboard to show him the extra love he deserves and I HATE when I fall short. If only I had 10 extra hours in my day... I could be a spectacular wife. I hope he hangs in with me until I can get myself together.
Sorry Raleigh had to share his birthday with the little birthday girls. We'll try to remember next year to have a more grown up celebration. He's such a good sport. It does sound like he had some fun though...golf with Brian and a nice breakfast, lunch and dinner with his cute wife. Hey now that I think about it, he had a wonderful birthday. Nice gifts too, what more could a guy ask for?? Happy Birthday Raleigh, in spite of the kids' party last night we sure do love you.
Kaci... you are absolutely, without a doubt NOT lame. :-)
