January Update...

January was pretty uneventful for us...  just the way we like it.  Kaleigh was inducted into Primary. The very second week, she was asked to give a talk.  She wasn't nervous or shy at all.   It was my week to teach and so I prepared the talk, but Raleigh helped her give it.  And Nana came and listened and SHE VIDEOED IT.  Don't tell anyone.  I'm sure it's not allowed, but I am SO happy to have that memory saved, especially because I had to miss it in person.  She was adorable.

Then on Friday, Morgan (the big ditcher) and I met Raleigh and Ryker at Chick fil A for lunch.  We tried to go to the brand new Einsteins.  But it was so busy and out of control that our bagel choices were onion, sesame seed, and garlic.  So, naturally we threw up a little in our mouths and went next door.  It was so much better anyway....  at least 1000 calories more.... but so much better.

The following Monday was MLK day.  Whatever the heck it is called.  My boss surprised me with a paid holiday.  Raleigh already had the day off and so we had big ideas for a fun adventure.  Which started with lunch at "Old McDonalds."  We stuffed our faces with nuggets, fries and ORANGE soda.
And then we drove around trying to make a fun plan.  But the driving didn't agree with Ryker and this photo here was taken 2 minutes before he BLEW HIS NUGGETS all over the car.  Oh yeah and also his ORANGE SODA.  Grossed out we were.  And so we just went home and spent 2 hours detailing the car.
Quincey has a new "friend."  We really like him.  He seems to have a good head on his shoulders.  He is a very talented photographer.  And he keeps her in line pretty well.  He even somehow managed to get Morgan's seal of approval.  That's NOT easy to do.
Miss Morgan got herself a WHOPPIN cavity under one of her brackets.  That festered itself into a massive emergency situation requiring a root canal.  She was a nervous wreck and so, so was I.  Papa and Raleigh gave her a blessing which calmed her down a little bit.  But this was her 15 minutes before we left.
And this was her afterward.  The dentist begged me to let her have some gas because she was shaking so badly and had so many tears in her eyes, she was breaking his heart.  She slept through her root canal.  And felt very elated when it was over.

"Do I have stitches......  in my vent?"
And we rounded out the month with a flat tire.  Because life wouldn't be complete without a monthly car repair.  I have been needing a new tire for so many weeks.  And I was so fortunate that it blew on Bluff instead of on the freeway.

The best part of January was that our Broncos (and not really our Broncos as much as our Peyton) is going to the Superbowl.  We are so excited and can't wait to watch the game.  I wish that just for one day, we could be back in our old house and have a Superbowl Party in the theater.

Another cute post. I can't tell you how happy I was to be able to hear Kaleigh's first talk in church. She was so darling but equally darling was Raleigh as he helped her say each word perfectly and held up the visual aids. Sooooo cute! I swear, I could be a spy, or something like that, for the CIA. I'm good at this secret videoing stuff.

I had to laugh a little at the picture of Ryker just before he lost his "nuggets". He looks a little sickly. There's a plastic poncho in that car kit we got you for Christmas, maybe you should have him wear that in the car.

Jayden looks cute. Maybe I'll get to meet him before the next one comes along.

Poor Morgan. I'm glad she survived the root canal. I think the gas was a good idea. Maybe she'll have "fond" memories and not be so scared if this happens again.

Now about that flat!! Why does this always happen when you are the driver??? It must be about that "charmed" life your husband leads. Whatever.....

I'd say that was a pretty good 'uneventful' month! Except for the flat tire. It's wonderful you could see a blessing amidst the curse. You are good at that!
Kaleigh is adorable. Nancy should post he contraband video!

What a busy month. Sorry about the root cananl, flat tire, and the puking in the car... but other than that- what a fun month. I am amazed at how quickly your kids are growing up. They are ALL so darling!
