Life is crazy...
And exciting...
And stressful...
Here is the story
At the beginning of the year, Papa and Nana hosted Family Home Evening. And the lesson was on goals. And Nana had us all choose two goals that we wanted to achieve by the end of the year.
Everyone selected their two goals.
Some more easily achieved than others.
Like for instance, my goals. Super easy. Didn't put myself out.
Raleigh, on the other hand, chose two completely unachievable goals. And not only did I think "well, those are completely unachievable goals..." I also thought "you sure are cute for thinking you will accomplish them" AND I also felt kind of sorry for him that he was going to miserably fail.
And I worried about his self esteem at the end of 2014.
What a disappointing year this was going to be for him.
Then he took it one embarrassingly horrible step further and printed up his goals in big letters on 11X14 sized paper and taped them to our bedroom wall. Preaching that "a goal written down and posted will certainly be obtained".
Sigh..............
Goal #1
I will not be working at Best Buy next holiday season.
(this goal really bothered me. Because this is our livelihood... you are messing with our livelihood. And the livelihood of our massive amounts of children.)
Goal #2
I will have 100 new clients by May 1st.
So sad.
Well, the joke, or the life lesson is on me
Both goals achieved a month ahead of time.
We celebrated with a "better than sex cake" .................. (which is incorrectly named in OUR case, but I've become distracted and and I've obviously digressed). on the very last day of a DECADE of service with the Blue Big Box Retailer from hell. What this means for our family is... no more working weekends, no more working holidays, our dad with us for all three hours at church, home in the evenings, a new job with nearly the same pay to start, a 10th of the responsibility, no more unreasonable demands, no more conference calls at 8:00 am on Sunday Mornings, no more Black Thanksgivings, no more 80 hour holiday work weeks, no more working with the insane public and no more STUPID BLUE SHIRTS!!!
As for goal #2... 107 new clients.
I am humbled. I am in awe. I don't know what to say except
I am wallpapering my bedroom wall with goals of epic proportions and next year who knows where we will be. Europe. The moon.
Kaleigh was overjoyed... to say the least
We did our usual Saturday morning tradition... Gym at 7:00, breakfast at 8:00, shopping until 10:00 only THIS Saturday, we didn't have to hurry home, so that he could shower and be to work by noon. THIS Saturday, we laid out in the back yard and laughed and got burned and listened to ridiculous rap songs from Raleigh's playlists and took pictures of each other of moles on our backs and other things I won't talk about or post.
Here was our final Best Buy purchase. A deal we COULD NOT pass up. We were due. Our old set is almost 8 years old. And according to Raleigh, is on it's last leg and will surely stop working next week or the next one for sure...
However.......is currently on KSL for $400.
Hit us up, if you need a fabulous set of front loaders that have been hahahahahhahah
"gently used" hahahhahahahahahaha.
12 loads a day for 7.3 years..... whatever.
Then we went to Papa and Nana's for our traditional after Priesthood Session Dessert Party.
The boys were as handsome as ever
I mean, seriously, so... good... looking.
And Garrett and Brayden indulged my photo requests even though they are too cool for photos
And the kids got to visit with Grandpa Russ

What a weekend.
Pheeeeewwwwww.

Congratulations to Raleigh on his Goal accomplishments. I remember thinking (in January) that those were pretty lofty goals but OWO, here it is early April and they are DONE!! What a guy.
Thanks for the "nice weekend" report. Here's to many more of those in the future. I'm glad you and Raleigh will get to spend them together now.
You sure do have cute kids.
I bet you thought there was some new meaning for OWO, kind of like LOL or OMG, and that I was really a hip mom and that you would ask me what the meaning was so you could be hip too. Well sorry. That was supposed to be WOW and I just didn't catch it. I've been trying to come up with some good words for OWO but can't do it this early in the morning.
Congratulations to Raleigh. I am so excited for your family to have him on the weekends and holidays. It will be so great!
