Stitches....

I had been home from work for 10 minutes.  I was trying to get dinner started and I was listening to all of the recaps of everyone's day.  Kaleigh kept interrupting asking repeatedly for some of the chocolate in the big box that was up on top of the cupboards.  I told her that Dad was the only one tall enough to reach the big box and as soon as he got home, he would get it down for her.  I continued stirring my soup with my back turned away from the chocolates.

Next thing I know, I heard a smack on the floor and in the half-second it took me to turn around, Kaleigh was lying flat on her stomach with a pool of blood under her.  I scooped her up.  Covered myself in blood, grabbed the kitchen towel and covered up what ever wound there was.  I wasn't about to look.  I yelled at Morgan to call Raleigh and tell him to come home immediately.  I held the towel under her chin.  My hands were shaking and she was crying, although not hysterically.

Peyton came in to check on her several times, but was more concerned that "someone needs to clean up this gross blood".

Luckily, Raleigh was already on his way home, he changed her blood stained dress and I put her bloody hair into a pony tail and the three of us were in the car on the way to the ER in 10 minutes.
She was very calm.  The nurse came out into the waiting room and put some gel on her chin to numb the cut and gave her a juice box.  Apparently, shots are no longer needed for stitches.  What a blessing.

When she was nice and numbed up, they took her back and stitched her up.  The girl never made a peep.  And the nurse and the doctor commented several times on how fabulous she was.... not to mention darling.  Tears welled up in my eyes as I watched her completely focused on the doctor as he worked on her.  She didn't flinch, she didn't speak...  NOTHING.

Raleigh read to her while the nurse was prepping the room.  She had a lovely warm blanket on her.
The final product.
My sweet little Magical Elf.
I LOVE her with all my heart

I love her with all my heart too!! She was so sweet and acted like nothing was wrong...darling!!! I'm sorry for the stitches, even though I don't think anyone will ever see a scar. When I got your text, my first thought was...RYKER!!! What has he done now??? Kaleigh would have been my last guess for stitches.

She is so darling and my heart is full each time she walks into the room. She was so proud of her stitches and visit to the doctor. So sweet. She is definitely her aunts neice... risk everything for chocolate.

Bless her heart and yours too! Darn chocolates, sometimes I'll go to great lengths for a piece too so I totally understand her climbing up to get it down, poor little girl. She is a doll! And her sweet face melts my heart!
