Well...... July came and went faster than a New York Minute.
I needed it to go sloooooooowly, but it didn't.
I am not ready for back to school stresses.
~PLUS~
The entire blasted month was mind blowingly too hot for a body to happily function.
Maybe it was the heat, OR maybe it was..............
the moon's gravitational pull got all changed up and caused an increase of wave frequencies which vastly upset the Earth's energy and made all of the people lose their minds.
And unfortunately, due to the nature of my employment, I got to speak to no less than a thousand lunatics this month.
And it messed me up mentally and emotionally.
The good news is.... our AC didn't quit this year
Which made us NOT want to leave our house to do anything.
I would get home from work, mentally exhausted from all of my psychotic encounters
and I would literally eat, clean up the kitchen and crawl onto my bed and binge watch the entire "Breaking Bad" series (for the second time).
One, might say that is lazy behavior.
But, I didn't feel like a lazy person.
I somehow felt justified in my inactivity.... like I had earned it.
I am perplexed that people behave the way they do
Say the insane things they say
Make the dumbass decisions that they make
And blame you, a complete stranger, when their stupid plans go south...
It makes me hate society as a whole.
I expressed these sentiments to my mom... saying.....
People, as a collective group are inherently lousy.
To which she replied
"I completely disagree. I see only good in people from my vantage point.
I see people holding the door for me, so I can get Kori into a building. I see people volunteering time and money and food. I see selfless, good hearted, loving people everyday."
And I was glad to hear that.
Perception is a strange thing
July was a time for getting ready for August
We started with Kaleigh's Kindergarten Physical
She is the bravest person I know.
Her body seems to be immune to pain or she has an incredibly high pain tolerance.
Procedures don't bother her, shots don't bother her, doctor's don't scare her. She doesn't worry if things are going to hurt. She speaks like an adult.
Raleigh takes one for the parental team when it comes to shots.
They don't bother KK, but they DO bother me.
The doctor made her promise
1. She wouldn't kiss any kindergarten boys
2. She would keep her room clean
3. She would always be happy
She is an elf, it's official.
She is below average in height
She is below average in weight
She is above average in happiness and a magical outlook on life
And no one is more excited to go to school than her.
Dad promised her a reward trip to Target
if she passed all of her tests
Our next "fix-up" adventure was the dentist
Peyton had ZERO cavities
But she does have shark teeth.
And by that, I mean her adult teeth are coming in
behind her baby teeth and her baby teeth are no where near
wanting to come out.
Sooooo...... she will have to have a few teeth pulled very soon
Such a huge disappointment for someone who has
been looking forward to losing a tooth for 5 1/2 years now
Little Miss Kaleigh, on the other hand,
has a few cavities and one will need a root canal.
Going back to her body not feeling pain....
The dentist is in shock that she feels nothing, but she just doesn't.
And if you think she is worried about having a cavity filled.... you'd be wrong.
She is instead negotiating a new Barbie or two.
Pearly Whites
The next fix up was our shower.
It was a tile shower and one day I was cleaning and I noticed that one of the tiles sort of caved in when I pushed on it. I wondered if maybe water was getting behind it. I wondered if maybe that had anything to do with my month long respiratory problems, which I was imagining was early onset lung cancer....
Nevertheless, the decision was made to tear out the tile shower and replace it with a granite one.
Mold for days.
Mold spores floating around my house for all of us to breathe in deeply
But, miraculously, the second the wall was dried out and the
new walls were put up
my lung cancer disappeared.
I can't wait for the granite to arrive.
Two weeks without a shower and having to go all the way upstairs to the
"family room" bathroom is not convenient or pleasant.
That shower is less than.
It drains poorly.
And it hums.
Plus, it's kind of dark and I am hacking up my legs
Our next...... nightmare...... was moving Brayden
He was renting a little dump in the middle of town.
And Papa asked him if he wanted to move on up... to the East Side
and live in his condo.
Of course, he said yes
And we moved him out during a flash flood
The sweet neighbor lady came out and held an umbrella over Raleigh
and told him not to get struck by lightning.
And my poor dad was like...
"what am I chopped liver?
"Am I not worthy of an umbrella?"
Then to add salt in the wounds of the entire family,
the screwed up mess of a tenant that is living in my dad's condo is refusing to move out.
Leaving Brayden and Crysti homeless
(well I shouldn't say homeless, when they have a lovely room to sleep in at my parents house)
While, every thing they own is in MY garage across town
And the delightful court system, which always seems to cater to white trash members of society, is taking it's sweet time assisting us in getting this piece of crap out of my dad's investment property.
She is the white trash poster child...
And she is quite proud of it too.
And my parents are experiencing first hand what I deal with on a daily basis and are getting an inkling of the nature of people in society from MY perspective.
Consequently, my mom says to me while we were standing in Brayden's garage
shielding ourselves from the inclement weather....
"you need to quit your job"
On a happy note...
Walt signed up to give yet another talk
for like the 7th time this year.
And we found out who our new teachers will be.
BLAST.... The first day of school is coming whether we are ready for it or not.
So, I guess we had better get ready
Kindergarten
First Grade
Morgan is all ready to start college
Allie just won another kendama contest
AND picked up another sponsorship.
She is also almost up to 1000 followers on her youtube account.
And that is all....

Ok I know that Allie was just a little side note in this post BUT man that girl is AM AMAZING! I am one of those 1000 followers and she freakin blows my mind! Seriously talented with that thing...as funny as it is!
I on the other hand am SO EXCITED that school is starting...for me that means my kids are back home where they belong. PHEEEWWW I made it through another dreadful summer.
so glad the little's are getting all taken care of with shots and clean teeth. I can't believe KK and how brave she is. It must be the ELF genes.
I wish you and I could both quit our jobs and open a fabulous money making business together...too bad I have no skills to bring to the table??
Good luck this next week with school and college beginning.
I feel your pain with the heat! It sure has been one HOT summer. I swear we live in hell. I think the heat makes people crazy! Don't get me wrong I see that great people that are out there in the world but trust me I see the crazies too and unfortunately I think they all want plastic surgery.
Your kids are so dang cute! I can't believe how big they are getting. I hope this week of school went well for everyone. One nice thing about school starting is that I know that fall is coming and that in a 2 or 3 more months it will cool off.
Now about Allie, I need to be one of her followers. I am going to have to check all of this out! Your kids are all so amazing, smart, talented, and good looking.
Glad you are getting a nice new shower. Be sure to post after pics.
I hope August is treating you guys well!
Take Care,
JoLynn
