October was all things sideyard.
We started playing Pickleball the very second the court was dry.
And the people started coming over.
The Sandbergs were our first guests.
We had so much fun this day. Every one was able to play and every one did very well.
We can't paint the court for 30-40 days after pour, so that puts us into November.
For now, we are using tape for lines and to be honest, it's just fine.
We have had so much fun learning the rules and how to keep score and we are actually getting
better each time we play. I can see improvement in all of us
In between games, Raleigh would put pieces together for the Gazebo.
It's pretty intense and heavy and complicated. So he was taking it slow.
Slim Sadie came over and played basketball.
Sadie is Peyton's bestie and they used to live 2 streets over, but now they live 4 miles away by the temple. They used to walk to the bus together every morning, now Peyton walks alone.
They used to read scriptures together at night. Now they have to facetime to do it.
It's so sad, but Peyton has handled it way better than I thought she would.
And the Gazebo started taking shape
Papa had a birthday on the 17th, which was a Sunday and we made mini cakes for him and decorated them, so we could leave them in the homes that they inspected on his birthday. SO sad.
In between festivities, I worked a little bit.
Thanks to a whole bunch of unnecessary changes and micromanagment (which I do not LOVE), we had to move incredibly heavy pallets of linens from here to there and back to here, because that makes sense to no one.
Finally on the last move, we talked our buddy into letting us use his gigantic forklift. Up until that point, we'd moving pallets down the street with a pallet jack.
I had to place a $70,000 linen order for 20 new homes that we will bring on in 2022
I had to order early anticipating that some of it may sit in the Pacific Ocean for the better part of the year.
Raleigh helped Papa and Nana with their computer
and looked sexy doing it
We also had a few thunderstorms this month
which reeked havoc on our neighborhood trashcans
And our pallets and pallets of linens
But it looked gorgeous everywhere you looked and I loved every second of it
The temple is coming along nicely
I did finally go see a doctor for my month long headache and Tylenol addiction.
She prescribed me a CT scan after I begged for one and made some tears come out.
I will have that the first part of November.
Hopefully it will bring me some peace.
Peyton is in the Halloween in-between
Too cool for school
But still very much wanting to be a part
She threw a bunch of costume randomness in the Amazon Cart
which when put together made her
Walmart Willie Wonka
And we Trunk or Treated with the ward on the 23rd
Dad applied makeup to KK's face THREE different times
The Gazebo continued to take shape.
The instructions said it would take four men to assemble
We tried it with three men and ME.
I think I did well at my job
complete success
Walt chose the cutest, most impractical costume in the world.
He got tons of attention but he.....
1. could not walk
2. could not carry a bag
3. could not see
4. could not hear
5. could not communicate
Gorgeous Girl
HUGE NON FAN of Halloween
I hate everything about it
Except that it is in October and it's cooler
We had a great month inspite of frustrations at work.
I really loved every moment of home time and home projects.
I am just so thrilled to get to wear boots and sweaters again and to not have to get into a 250 degree car every day.
Life is so simple and sublime right now
I am just going to enjoy it for as long as I am allowed.
