May started off with the best news ever...
Kami and Brent are moving back to Utah.
They have been to Bagdad Arizona, Yuma Arizona and Houston Texas
Why?
I do not know.
But it no longer matters, they made the correct decision to move back to the correct state.
She is the Community Services Director in Santaquin
which is kinda like the mayor and the city president.
She had to move out a month ahead of Brent and leave him behind to sell the house,
pack up the house and switch jobs.
She made a quick trip down to St. George to visit us her first weekend in town
We took her to Walt's game and to have dinner at Cafe Sabor
It was the best time
We are so happy
Mothers Day is not my favorite day.
It never has been.
I don't know why, I just don't like it.
But the Elders Quorum and Bishopric in our ward went above and beyond to
make us feel loved and appreciated.
We had a lovely brunch with the young women and the Relief Society
And I visited with my ministering sister while everyone cleaned up
all around us. They came and cleared our table, took the tablecloth off,
took the table away and we just kept talking.
We were still sitting there when the room was empty.
✅ May Visit
The men did such a great job
We had a work half day.
Those are always nice and appreciated.
We went to Fiesta Fun, but the Silver Club opted not to play mini golf,
bowl, do the bumper boats and race cars.... we just sat and watched every one
else like grandmas and grandpas.
It was very relaxing
I love this cute boy
Hey Mom.... Do I look good in this hat?
Rals and I did an early morning temple session on the Friday of Memorial Day.
I took a four day weekend because I am LOSING it at work and need to get away
for a long time.
For now 4 days will have to do.
We had a wonderful time at the temple. It was a super small session and we
were in and out in a flash
And then we came home to prepare for our BIGGEST May Event.
.......................................................................................................................
We have 3 teenagers at our house.
One is living his best life every single day.
He is never home.
He plays football almost every day.
He goes to weights.
He has a group of really great friends that hang out in all their spare time.
He has a friend that's a girl too, that he hangs out with from time to time.
We never see that kid.
We have another child who jumps in her truck and drives to any number of
friends' houses everyday.
From there, they go to restaurants, movies, skim boarding at the river, swimming in pools,
they go to school events, dances,
they play games at the park, they do Maverick Runs at midnight.
We hardly see that daughter.
Then there is KK.
She has one friend, a best friend. By design. But only one.
And they do not hang out after school or on weekends.
They see and love each other at school, but then she comes home,
goes to her room and entertains herself up there for hours.
She sews, she reads, she does her nails, she curls her hair, she
watches old movies, keeps up on the latest hollywood gossip and takes naps.
She truly is happy.
But we go up and check on her and she is just alone in her room.
She is the sweetest, most tender, calm and loving girl.
And our hearts were breaking for her.
On April 1st, my officemate, Jeff told me that his dog just had puppies.
"Oh" I said, "What kind of puppies are they?"
Maltese Yorkshire Terriers
And I don't know what happened inside me... but an overwhelming feeling
came over me that we needed to get one of those puppies for our darling KK.
Raleigh agreed immediately
And Jeff and I started communicating daily about the dogs.
There were two of them and boy and girl.
And we talked at length about a plan to surprise her.
We decided that we were tell her that Jeff was asking her to dog sit for him over Memorial Day
Weekend and that he would like her to come over to his house to meet the dogs prior
to him leaving, so she could see if the dogs liked her and he could show
her where he keeps the food etc
But in reality, we would take her to meet the two puppies and see which one liked her
and which one she liked the most.
So when we arrived at Jeff's house, she fully and completely believed that she
was there to interview for a dogsitting job.
So when we told her that we were actually there to choose our new puppy,
it didn't click for a minute
Watch the darling video here
She chose the boy
She loves him.
He loves her.
He is going to change her life
The car ride home was 40 minutes and he never left her lap
and never made a peep
All day on Memorial Day Saturday, Raleigh
installed a doggie door, set up fences and we built him a little inside/outside
Puppy Suite that has a 5 star rating.
And after two days of living in our home, he
1. Loves his bed
2. Loves his room
3. Pees on the pad only
4. Poops only outside, no matter what.
5. Learned how to use the doggie door in 5 minutes.
6. Cries a little when we close his room gate, but immediately goes
over and gets in his bed and sleeps for most of the night.
He is so excited when we come to let him out in the morning.
He bites our toes (only in the morning though.)
He is eating perfecly
Drinking perfectly
Pooping perfectly
He is perfectly perfect.
His name is Hank
We love him
And Dad might love him the most
Even if he hasn't sunk a single putt in 2 weeks
May felt like 1 week.
It started and ended so fast.
On the very last day of the month, Raleigh was re-called as 1st Counselor in a new Bishopric.
We were so happy about that.
The blessings and the good things that have come to our family as a result of his serving in
this calling are indescribable and we feel so fortunate to be able to serve for a couple more years.
Ryker finished up 7 on 7 and now he is fully engaged in Freshman Football and Two-a Days and weights and scrimmages.... with all kinds of messing around with friends inbetween.
Peyton and KK are so happy that it is summer and they get to sleep in and stay in their PJs all day.
I am just doing the same ole thing in the same ole way
I am hoping for a couple of changes to my routine in the next month or two
that might make going to work more fun again.
Getting ready for the next 120 days of over 100 degree weather and praying
for a good monsoon season. It's been years since we have had one of those
