Brayden thought it would look good on his high school resume to have some extracurricular activities. The Latin Club was all filled up and so he went with the next obvious choice...

The Future Farmers of America.

Afterall, it was good enough for Napoleon, so it'd be good enough for him.

He immediately discovered that their first field trip of the year was scheduled for September 14th. (Are you kidding me? Already? The first month of school?... This is the greatest club of all time) The destination: The Utah FFA Fair. Which essentially really means... NO SCHOOL for a whole day.

He wasn't exactly sure what was going on at the fair or what he would find there, but he put on his most gay tie dyed shirt and headed off for what just could be the adventure of his lifetime...who knew??

I stupidly, made sure he had not only his one dollar admission... but ample money for lunch

because I'm dumb like that.

So fast forward to the next day

I am at work vigorously working

and my phone began burning up with repeated phone calls and text messages coming in from my Little Farmer, faster than I could ever have been expected to ever respond to them, in a panicked frenzy....."Mom, call me...hurry...please....Mom, where are you? Call me..."

Well, I was a wreck trying to dial his number

What could it be?

A bus crash?

A cattle stampede?

He fell in some poo?

I couldn't begin to adequately guess

Finally, I reached him

"What?" I said, all out of breath "what is it, my darling firstborn? Are you injured, sick, trampled?

"Um...I was just going to ask you if I could buy a bunny with my lunch money, but you took so long to call me back, I just bought a Chinaman's hat and a Ninja Star instead"

Yup, Herein lies our hope for the future
