Thankful......... November 16th

I am so incredibly blessed that my body was able to have these little babies so late in my life.  I am so lucky that I had three healthy eggs, that gave us these beautiful healthy children.   But even more amazing is how well behaved they are and how easy they are to raise.  It may be because we are older parents, well...... one of us is older and one of us is REALLY older......... and maybe we just don't let things bother us and so they seem easy.  But I really think they are just delightful children.

Peyton is very smart.  And she is very introspective and interested in educational games and toys.  She is occupied with my iPad nearly all day long.  She switches from educational program to educational game to tutorials that teach her to speak Spanish.  She can entertain herself for hours.  She goes to sleep when she is tired and usually doesn't bother anyone and doesn't tell us she's going to bed.  She just does.  And we find her asleep and so we pull her blanket over her and kiss her head.

She talks like a grown up most of the time and loves hanging out with the big kids and their friends.   She really loves Raleigh.  And is so happy when he comes home from work.  In the night, if she needs something, she sneaks over to his side of the bed and whispers...  "Dad, I need a drink.  Can you get me a drink."  She never comes to me.  Even though my side of the bed is the closest and there is a nightlight right by me.  She walks clear around in the dark.

Lately, she loves to roll her eyes back in her head and she will say... "you can't even see my eyes."  I say... "where are your big brown cow eyes?"  and she giggles and says  "they are all gone."

When we drive in the car she will point out all of the letters that she sees and is so excited if we pass by animals.  When she sees colors, she will say them in Spanish.  Even anaranjado.... which is orange and I can't pronounce it, but she can.

She is very easy going and pleasant.  She is going to love being a Sunbeam.  She is going to love preschool.  I think all the time that if she is this wonderful at age 3, she is going to be a dream when she is 6 and 7 and 8.........and........ and.

I just love her and I am so glad that I was able have the blessing of having her as my daughter.

It's November 16th..........  and I am Thankful for Peyton

Sweet Peyton...she is all those things and much more. I'm so happy that we are able to live near these cute little kids and be in their lives almost everyday. I would hate it if I had to miss this. A couple of days ago, when I was babysitting, I hurt my knee. I sat down on the couch to recover and Peyton came over to me and said, "Nana, are you ok?" I said, "yes, I'm ok, I just hurt my knee." She said, "well Nana, I'm here to help you." What a crack-up!! She's so cute!! I'm thankful for Peyton too.

She is such a doll! I can see that she is a happy pleasant little girl.

I thought that was interesting what you said about not letting things bother you. I always say to Brian, "Man if we were to have our kids now I'd be such a better mom." I think back on all the things that I got so hyped up about and now I think oh brother. How silly!

Anyway, I'm sure all of your children are angels with good parents like you and Raleigh!
