I am so blessed and proud to be a member of the church. I love Sunday Mornings. Every Sunday morning has been the same since we moved here. Raleigh and I wake up at 7:00 and spend some quality time together before the kids wake up. Our time, usually contains lovely, much needed massages and meaningful conversation and laughter and love. We take our time, we enjoy each other's presence and then............. one by one (if we are lucky) the bambinos start waking up and the chaos begins..... baths, cinnamon rolls, teeth brushing, hair curling, trying to put outfits together, MoTab in the background, some yelling, a little crying, preparing the Sacrament Meeting Bag, dinner in the crock pot, iPads charging, beds unmade, towels everywhere, not enough seats in the car for everyone and in our hard metal seats in the middle of the cultural hall before the opening song ends...
That is until......... we start church at 9:00 in January... Then we will be in our seats half way through Relief Society/Priesthood. Just being honest...
But, I love going to church with my husband and holding his hand and knowing that he is there because he wants to be there. I love the messages that we get to hear. I love the truths that we know and the guidance we receive. We are so blessed to know what we know and to know that we are never alone. It's truly amazing when you think about where we are in the world and in the era in which we are living. To not only live in a free country where we are able to worship how and when and where we choose but to be able to live the teachings of the gospel freely and in the way Heavenly Father intends. But, to be able to have the blessing of knowing the truths of the gospel and not have to cross the plains to get to a safer place or to have to fight with government to be able to pray. Or to have to worship in secret. I love listening to conference, but I LOVE reading the talks that I heard the month before over and over. We are so very blessed.
It's November 4th....... and I am thankful for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
